I kept meaning to stop using plastic bags at the supermarket and this was the push I needed. It folds down small enough to keep in my handbag and it’s pretty enough that I actually remember to bring it.
Update from my 2020 purchase: this bag has been in weekly rotation for three years and still looks great. A little fading on the handles from sun, but the structure is perfect. Ordering a second one now.
As a sustainability consultant I talk about “closing the loop” all day — this tote is a tangible example I now carry to client meetings. Well-made, distinctive, and a great conversation starter.
Love the upcycling story and the bag is beautifully made. I just find it a touch small for a full grocery run — fine for a bakery stop or library books though. Still a four-star because the concept is brilliant.
