About Our Reusable Wool Dryer Balls
Clothes dryers are known for devouring electricity and can add 2,400 pounds to your carbon footprint per year (the equivalent of a flight from London to New York!). But the quicker clothes dry, the lower your impact. SuperBee wool dryer balls reduce drying time by up to 30% by allowing hot air to circulate between your clothes as they spin. They’re also a fantastic natural fabric softener, increasing the fluffiness of fabrics without any of the chemicals or toxins found in traditional laundry products.
If you prefer your clean clothes to have a fragrance, simply add a few drops of your favorite essential oil directly to the wool balls and set them aside for a couple of hours. Come the next wash, they will infuse your clothes with a subtle, chemical-free fragrance. Please note that essential oils may discolor the surface of the balls but this will not impact their performance.
SuperBee laundry balls are also biodegradable and home compostable, making them an awesome eco-friendly purchase.

Bought A Second Set
After two years with my first set I bought another set so I could run six balls in a single large load. Drying time dropped even more. Also having backup means when one gets buried in a duvet cover forever I still have the others.

Quieter Than I Expected
Read reviews worried about noise and braced myself but honestly my dryer is barely louder than before. I think it depends on the machine. These are not the thumping hard balls I was picturing. More like dense wool.

Kids Can Throw Them In
Part of teaching my kids laundry is making it simple. Three wool balls in the dryer is literally it. No measuring, no pouring, no forgetting to add the softener to the right compartment. Simplicity wins.

Down Jackets Puff Up Beautifully
Washed my puffer jacket with these and it came out fluffier than when I bought it. The balls bounce around inside the garment and redistribute the down clumps. Genuinely useful function I did not expect.

Charlotte we love this. A laundry nerd’s approval is the highest praise. Tell your mum, aunt and the neighbors we say hello. Thanks for spreading the wool ball gospel. SuperBee Team
Our drying balls are extremely nifty. Just pop your SuperBee wool dryer balls directly into your dryer when you’re putting on a load and they’ll reduce drying time by 30%. This is because they allow hot air to circulate between your clothes as they spin. Better still, they can soften fabrics and cut down on static that can be caused by overdrying. You’ll also find they extend the lifespan of your clothes because you can set your dryer to a lower temperature when using them”
For the best results, we recommend not overfilling your machine, as this reduces the amount of space available for the balls to move around and can reduce their impact.
Want to add a subtle, non-toxic fragrance to your clothes? Simply sprinkle a couple of drops of your favorite essential oils directly onto the wool balls and let them dry for a couple of hours. Next time you use the balls, they’ll add a subtle, chemical-free fragrance to your wash.
What are the SuperBee wool dryer balls made from?
Our wool laundry balls are made from 100% natural, fragrance-free and unbleached New Zealand sheep’s wool. They’re completely plastic-free and come in recyclable, unbleached card packaging. Use them with our organic and chemical-free alternative to laundry detergent for a completely natural and zero-waste wash.
How long do wool dryer balls last?
The SuperBee reusable dryer balls should last up to 1,000 loads — which is anywhere between two and five years, depending on how much laundry you do. Because they’re made from 100% natural materials, they’re biodegradable and can be home-composted at the end of their life.
You’ll know it’s time to bid farewell when their wool starts to unravel. Just add them to your home compost or commercial composting bin and they’ll find their way back into the soil.
Are wool dryer balls safe to use in my washing machine?
Of course! Unlike single-use dryer sheets containing harsh chemicals and allergens that can trigger reactions in your skin, reusable wool dryer balls are hypoallergenic and a fully eco-friendly alternative for your laundry.
Wool dryer balls are also completely safe to use with your washing machine; contrary to public belief, they don’t pose a fire hazard! You’ll also be pleasantly surprised by how quiet they are. Our laundry balls are designed to be gentle in their impact on the inside of your dryer.
Handmade with love, our beeswax wraps and eco products make everyday living kinder to your home and the planet. Explore and find your sustainable favorites!
